What was the biggest challenge you faced creating your store?
Working through the Idea was probably the toughest part because I'm not entrepreneurial minded. Everything was really smooth, though I did stumble a bit after creating a product, then not finding it on the store. I had to set it to active which I figured out pretty quickly.
What worked really well when using our platform?
How easy it was to grab a theme, and start editing it. I was really impressed with the DnD interface for re-organizing blocks in real time. Great interaction when the page zooms out to see the full context! I also liked that you can just provide the dimensions of the shipping box and you can order shipping labels. Seems like Shopify handles the whole experience end-to-end
What could be improved when using our platform?
I think in the theme editor if I could double click into a text box to edit in place, it would have been more intuitive than editing in the sidebar. Otherwise it was straight sailing through the whole setup
How did this experience help you build empathy for our merchants?
This is the first time I've really looked at what goes into thinking of a product. I learned about tools like TrendHunter. I'm amazed at how little they have to do with our tool to get up and running. Obviously there's a high ceiling to how deep you can go, but to sell one product with a minimal store seems absolutly trivial if you can figure out the idea and manufacturing side of things.
And I see that shopify is offering resources to help with those things as well with Oberlo and other resources
